BOOK CLUB READS Top 40 2016 16 FICTION FICTION Trigger Mortis Anthony Horowitz He’s back... James Bond, 007. Read Trigger Mortis to catch up with the latest death-defying antics of the world’s most famous fictional spy. Written by Anthony Horowitz, who brings polish to television’s Foyle’s War, Midsomer Murders and Poirot, this cracking account of 007 is never dull. Bond quickly disposes of a Russian assassin while motor racing on a difficult European championship track and finishes by saving New York City from a massive explosion transported via the subway. Predictably, Bond survives being buried alive, diving into a freezing cold lake from a castle turret and defusing a bomb on a fast-moving train. Unusually, the back-stor y of Sin Jai-Seong humanises an arch-villain and makes this a good choice for book clubs. A masterly Horowitz touch!
