40 NON-FICTION NON-FICTION BOOK CLUB READS Top 40 2016 Not Just Black and White Lesley and Tammy Williams When Tammy Williams was 17 years old, she wrote an award-winning essay on injustice for a competition that was created by Michael Jackson and the Neverland Foundation. Tammy had been inspired by the story of her mother Lesley, who at a young age was sent to work as a domestic servant but never saw her wages – which had been held by the Queensland Government. The memoir is written by both Tammy and Lesley, whose stories are intertwined throughout the book. Life had not been easy for Lesley but her determination for justice is inspirational and makes this book a fascinating read.
