Regularly attending a cancer suppor t group, Hazel meets Augustus, a 17 year old cancer sur vivor. Hazel and Augustus quickly strike up a friendship. Their relationship intensifies rapidly thanks to their shared understanding of what it is like to live with cancer. The story details their experiences and what it is like to be in love with someone who has cancer. Green has created a love story that deals with difficult subject matter in a refreshingly real manner, making the relationships in this novel captivating. It is hard not to fall in love with Augustus and Hazel’s relationship, making for an emotional but ver y worthwhile read.
